3.5 days per week (Term time + 1 week of the July and September school holidays)

Trinity College is a multi-site, independent, co-educational Anglican College founded in a liberal educational tradition in northern Adelaide. We are open to all who want their children educated in a caring and Christian tradition regardless of economic status, ability or religious affiliation. We provide exceptional facilities, support inspirational and expert staff with a passion for education, and deliver an outstanding sense of community.

The Work Placement Officer plays a key role in sourcing and administering structured work placements for Trinity College Senior students across VET and SACE Work Practices programs. Guided by the Head of Flexible Pathways, the role supports meaningful connections between students and host employers in the local and wider community. As part of a collaborative team, this is a relationship-focused position, building and maintaining strong industry partnerships to ensure safe, successful and enriching student placements.

What you will do:

  • Provide individual career counselling and support to match students appropriately with host employers.
  • Source work placements and prepare all students to meet current workplace expectations and guidelines.
  • Monitor student progress through regular phone contact and host employer workplace visits during both school term time and school holiday periods.
  • Maintain accurate records and administer key processes, including SACE assessment requirements and employer/student data.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships by acting as the central contact between students, host employers, staff and parents.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Flexible Pathways and Senior school staff to ensure safe, successful placements and support the effective operation of the team.

What you will need to succeed:

  • You will be an excellent communicator who can build trust and rapport with students, staff, parents and local employers.
  • With strong ICT capability, you will confidently use Microsoft Office document tools to ensure student and employer information is accurate, secure and maintained.
  • Your organisation, problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing timelines will help you thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You will relate naturally to young people, responding calmly, respectfully and professionally to a wide range of student needs and situations.
  • Your confidence in networking with businesses and industry partners (trades and para-professional occupations) - supported by your own practical employment experience - will strengthen our community connections.
  • You will be a collaborative team member who uses initiative, maintains confidentiality and meets required compliance standards.

Key selection criteria:

  • A minimum of two years' demonstrated experience in recruitment, training facilitation, or within an industry-supported RTO will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated confidence in cold-calling, relationship building and employer negotiation (in person, online and by telephone).
  • Experience working within schools and an understanding of applied learning is an advantage.
  • An understanding of VET delivered to senior school students is desirable.
  • Availability to work during school holiday periods as required.
  • A current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle for site visits.

The successful applicant must have the right to work in Australia and will be subject to satisfactory employment screening and background checks, including working with children.
